Every so often, one reads comments like "That was like what $$$$ is today", let's say if some one made $50 a week in 1948, someone would write "That's like $800 (or whatever) today!", basically pointing out how much less the dollar buys now, as opposed to then. Well, how about
this -- back in 1989, I bought a 512KB RAM module for my Amiga 500 computer, and it cost something like $100; Just a couple of months ago, I bought 4GB of RAM for about $80, which would have cost
$800,000 in 1989...
