Paper Santa, Rainy Saturday

Here we have a Christmas card I made for 2007. I remember seeing paper dolls in the Sunday newspaper comic sections when I was a kid; they seemed pretty bizarre to me at the time. Anyway, I'd thought it would be funny to have a Santa Claus in his underwear -- but maybe it's more disturbing than funny -- which of course makes it even funnier...

Me and My Many Shadows, Gorgon Salon

Was on my way Downtown before noon on Monday -- unusually early for me. Did find the Sun in an unaccustomed position, casting shadows that reached out to my camera and begged to have their picture taken.

I thought: "Would Medusa go to a hairstylist, or a snake charmer?"

With eager metaphorical feet, I stomped on my brain, as if it were a giant grape of silliness, and produced the fine wine of madness that is the following cartoon...

OK, maybe I just quickly drew the first thing that popped into my head, and that was that.

Barbarian at the Gate

The phrase "Guardian of Stupidity" popped into my head for some reason; thought it could be an honored profession somewhere. ****

Plasma Not, Again Fog

I think everybody would be in agreement (at least I hope so!), that today would be a good day to have a picture of an angry beatnik posted here.

Apparently, things were no longer a gas for this individual, his whole "scene" may have devolved into a liquid or worse yet, a solid. Let's hope the situation was only temporary.

Friday night was relatively warm, and the ice & snow was melting, plus there was fog. This resulted in some nice picture taking opportunities.

Hair Crime

Scribbled out this I think the Sonny Bono look should be standard for detectives; It would really "tune in" to where the youth of today are at (our most popular crime demo), and showing them that "the boys in blue" are "hip to the scene", resulting in a new respect for authority.

Quasimodo Claus

I think it rather interesting that one never sees Santa Claus and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame in the same place at the same time -- could it be that they are in fact one and the same person? That may explain why Santa avoids being seen...
