Hack Horror

OK, here we have a scene from a new horror film (that I just made up) called PENCILS ( which will be followed by PENCILS II, PENCILS III, etc.). In the series, hack political cartoonist Stan "Pencils" Brewster is murdered by a cabal of corrupt politicians and businessmen who took umbrage at Brewsters depiction of them as rats feeding on the corps of Blind Justice (with everything clearly labeled). The tale revolves around Pencils' spirit returning to wreak hideous vengence upon his murderers and their moronic progeny. Unfortunately, Brewster having been a mere hack (an uncle got him the job on the paper in the first place), his methods of dispatching his enemies are rather unimaginitve and insipid, just as were his cartoons -- Oh, and when the cops find Brewster's victims, the scenes of his vengence are "composed" like an editorial cartoon, and even have his "Pencils" signature prominently displayed. Eventually, the teenage heroes of the film eventually put Pencils' spirit to rest (at least until the next sequel) using a neo-pagan ceremony involving a Pulitzer Prize and some Thomas Nast cartoons.
