2016 February Frankenstein #23

Pretty much forgotten these days, the PREFONTAINE MCGOOKEN comedies were at one time quite popular with movie audiences.  These low budget flicks starred the Frankenstein Monster (just credited as "Frankenstein") as Prefontaine McGooken,  Zasu Pitts as his gal pal and constant foil, Sacagawea Jones, and Huntz Hall as best bud/doofus, Osama Schrempf.  There were a total of 27 McGooken films, with titles such as BOWLED OVER, GOT A NICKEL?, I TAKE THIS PIE, and OUT TO LUNCH.  They were typical "programmers" of the day, but it is rumored that William Faulkner did work, uncredited, on a few.
