First World Problem

Last week I was in an elevator and heard someone say "This is a First World problem..." followed by some personal peeve.  I thought it interesting that a person felt it necessary to view their minor quirk in a global context.  It did inspire this cartoon, though.

Frankenstein, We Have.

It's been a while since I posted a Frankenstein.  Here's one I drew on the way to work on Tuesday.

Not That

Recently, I've been in a mood for drawing in ink and colori on Post-It notes.
I think most of us have been there and done this:

Scratch Phrase

Some of you out there who occasionally visit alternate universes may remember this cartoon character from when he was somewhat popular back in the mid-1960s to the early 1970s.   Never actually given a name, but unofficially known as The Guy In The Stripped Jammies,  the character appeared in single panel cartoons in various alternative weeklies, where he'd utter phrases like "I like stuff on my pancakes", "The Sun is in the peep hole" and "I'll polish the doorknob".  For some reason, the "counter-culture" latched onto this simplistic cartoon and would often quote the phrases at Be-Ins, Love-Ins and other such gatherings. The most popular quote was "Maybe I'll get to that later", which started appearing on buttons, t-shirts and drug paraphernalia.  The cartoon stopped appearing after it's creator, William "Gonzo" Packard, was kicked out of his parents house and had to get a real job.

Slightly Unpleasant, But Natural

While on my day (evening?) job, I was walking down Arcade Place, when, for no apparent reason, the phrase "Monkey Punchers" popped into my head.   I thought "Monkey Punchers... and what?"; then "Monkey Punchers in Vomit World" followed quite naturally.   It doesn't sound like anything nice, but it sounds like something.

Waiting for the Fame Train

Been a while since I scribbled something on a Post-It and scanned it into the computer.

Wayyyy Like

FaceBook has a "Like" button, where you can just "click" to voice your approval or admiration of some comment, photo, or whatever posted by somebody, and a little "Thumbs Up" icon will appear that you "liked" it.  People have suggested there should also be a "dislike" button/icon -- well how about another kind of "like" icon for people who like something in a really creepy and disturbing way?  Maybe it could look like this:

Future Has-Been

Anybody or anything that may have some unique quality that could possibly be used to market products must become over-exposed and then discarded (but possibly be brought back years later for "ironic" use)
