Greaserstein: Or the Pompadore Prometheus was to be the first of Chronogram Studio's series of horror films targeted at the hair obsessed teen audience in the 1950s. Others films in development were The Mummy's Perm, Phantom of the Barber Shop and the Stone Page Boy (a retelling of the Golem). Before any of the films actually went into full production, a combination of the Yo-Yo and Hula-Hoop crazes and Elvis going into the army caused the collapse of the hair oriented movie market.****
