You probably don't remember BEATNIK WITH A BADGE. It wasn't on TV very long; It aired on the VoxNik Network in the early 60s (which you also probably don't remember, few televisions having been able to receive the UMF (Ultra-Mellow Frequency) signal). Originally, the show was going to be titled BEAT COP, but that name had already been registered by a (now defunct) metronome manufacturer. Nothing more is known for sure about the show, which has no remaining copies. The show had been recorded not on film or tape, but a bizarre experimental liquid recording media and stored in glass jelly jars; apparently the entire series had been drunk by some hippie seeking to get "farther out".****
