To save Coffee Shop/Beat Hang-Out Marx The Spot from closing down, young poet Johnny Howl has to enter the sleazy world of the four-cornered ring to raise the needed bread (oh wow, dig that last phrase -- it's a gassss!). Memories of those important to the tale float through the beat's braincase as he sallies forth to beat or be beaten.

Have an idea for a more elaborate cartoon involving a running dog (and a commie perhaps!), so have been scribblin' critters running around. This here doggie (which I will call Narlo) is persuing a scurvy rat ( I will call that one Scroobles).

It's For You

In a discussion, the the subject of how in the latest edition of ET: The Extraterrestrial, a scene (or more?) where men had guns had been digitally altered so that the guns are now walky-talkies. I speculated on what would happen if the P.C. Legion decided to digitally remove the guns from all sorts of movies -- for instance in the Dirty Harry movies, the 44 Magnum could be replaced (if ET had set a precident that communication devices had to be used) with a pink princess phone ("...this being a pink princess phone, the most adorable communication device in the world..."), or in THE SEARCHERS, John Wayne could be sporting a telegraph key.

Anyway, that got me to doodling somethng with telephones. I think the drawing came out somewhat creepy
