Prelude to Gentrification
This idea popped into my head when I saw the cover story of the latest New City newspaper ("...written by a Junkie")

Road Kill
A semi-valuable addition to The Legion of Crummy Heroes, Road Kill made his debut in STEVE FALCON: THE WINGLESS EAGLE issue no. 125, Aug. 1974
Road Kill gets the guy who "got away" -- Those criminals who "beat the system" and escaped justice through legal loopholes, bribes and law enforcement incompetence. Road Kill has the ability to be in the "right place at the right time" (or wrong place at the wrong time, depending on your point of view): Under the wheels of evil-doers who thought they were in the free-and-clear. The perps then find themselves in an endless cycle of lawsuits, traffic citations and Road Kill's medical bills!

Ash Can
Some photographic fun here. Took a pic of a yucky looking ash can, and turned it into an album cover for the classic '60s -'70s band ASH CAN.

Psychoticism
Ever see this 1970s era Euro Horror flick?
I remember the radio commercials for this thing. The reverbed voice of Adolph Caesar intones: "... Watch as His UNHOLY PASSION fills the screen with Unimagined Vistas of PURE HORROR..." while in the background, sounds of chains rattling, women screaming and Klaus Kinski's demented giggle are accompanied by Gregorian chanting.
Oh, wait you probably couldn't have seen it since I just made all this up!! -- But it could have been a movie...
Oh, and Joseph Cotten would be in too. His scenes would have been shot in two days.

Commute Plus
On Wednesday, my daily 18 minute commute downtown was expanded to 90 minutes. Not really an completely unpleasant experience, but there were others who may felt differently...

Fiddling Through the Fire
I pick up the daily free "junior" newspaper here in the Big City, and sometimes find it somewhat unsettling to find the local Lightweight Hipster column ("Drink Your Brains out AND Make It To Work On Monday!!") sandwiched between the National Disasters and Local Tragedies.
